GODOWN
Godown is a place where a trader keeps his stock.
There are two pre-defined godown in tally:-
a)
Main Location
b)
Primary
Example:-
Tally
Pvt. Ltd. Company purchased 50 pieces of HCL Computer for Rs. 25,000 each. The
company keeps the stock in a godown of Gorakhpur which is in main location. The
company sold 5 pieces of HCL Computer for Rs. 30,000 each from Gorakhpur
godown.
Record the above transactions.
To maintain:-
First of all we have to create a company and then activate
godown as follow:-
Now create godown as given below:-
Path for create godown:
- G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> Inventory Info--> Godown--> Create (single).
And then the box given below will be appear:-
Now fill the godown form as follow:-
And now create stock master (stock group, stock item
and units of measure) as follow:-
To Create Stock Group:
- G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> Inventory Info--> Stock Group--> Create.
And then create stock item:-

Create Stock Item: -
G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> Inventory Info--> Stock Item--> Create.
Here units of measure is created directly in stock
item by pressing “Alt + C”. You can also create unit by the path given in the
topic “How To Maintain Inventory”.
And then create ledger as follow:-
Path for ledger creation:
- G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> accounts info--> ledger--> create (single).
After that, do voucher entries.
Path for voucher creation:
- G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> Inventory Voucher--> press F9 (Purchase Voucher).
Now press “enter” on “HCL” and a box will be appear as
follow:-
Fill it as given below:-
After that press “enter”:-
And then accept the voucher:-
Now see the stock summary of Gorakhpur godown:-
Path for view summary of Gorakhpur godown:
- G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> display--> statement of inventory--> godown--> Gorakhpur.
Now do sales voucher:-
Path for voucher creation:
- G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> inventory voucher--> press F8 (Sales Voucher).
Now press “enter” on “HCL” and a box will be appear as
follow:-
After that press “enter”:-
And then accept the voucher:-
Now view the summary of Gorakhpur godown:-
