BILLS OF MATERIAL

This option is used by manufacturer or producer to know the actual cost of any stock item.

Example:-

IBM Company purchased following spare parts of HCL Computer at following rates:-

Spare Parts                               Quantity                            Rate (in Rs.)

CPU                                               1 pc                                    10,000

Mouse                                            1 pc                                    1,000

Keyboard                                       1 pc                                     2,000

Monitor                                          1 pc                                      3,000

Some additional expenses were made on purchasing the spare parts, which are as given below:-

Octroi Rs. 300, Wages Rs. 400 and Carriage Inward Rs. 300

Do the above entries.

To maintain:-

Create a company and activate bills of material.

To activate bills of material (BOM):- G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> Inventory Info--> Stock Item--> Create--> Press F12 (Configuration).

Press “enter” and then stock item creation pox will be opened.

Press “Esc” (Escape) button to exit stock item creation box.

Now create stock group as follow:-

To Create Stock Group: - G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> Inventory Info--> Stock Group--> Create.

And then create stock item:-

To Create Stock Item: - G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> Inventory Info--> Stock Item--> Create.

Press “enter” on “yes” and a box will open, fill there ‘1 pc’ as follow:-

Again press “enter” on it and fill ‘1 pc’ and press enter and the form will look like this:-

Here, press “Alt + C” and create stock item to fill the item column.

And then press “enter”.

Again press “Alt + C” and create stock item and then fill quantity.

All the stock item will be created as well as above created.

After that press “enter” three times and the form will be back to stock item creation.

Accept by pressing “enter” key as follow:-

After that create ledger as follow:-

Path for ledger creation: - G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> Accounts Info--> Ledger--> Create (Single).

Now do voucher entry as follow:-

Path for voucher creation: - G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> Inventory Voucher--> Press F9 (Purchase Voucher).

Now create voucher types:-

Path for Voucher Types creation: - G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> Inventory Info--> Voucher Types--> Create.

Now create multiple ledger for additional expenses as follow:-

Path for ledger creation: - G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> Accounts Info--> Ledger--> Create (Multiple).

And then again do voucher entry as follow:-

Path for voucher creation: - G.O.T. (Gateway of Tally)--> Inventory Voucher--> Press Alt + F7 (Stock Journal Voucher).

When you will press “Alt + F7”, a box will be open as follow:-

Press “enter” key on “Manufacturing” and a voucher will open, fill it as follow:-

Now you can see the stock summary:-
